soulmates . . ?

naofumi is one of few people currently known to show signs of having a soulmate. it occasionally grows flowers out of its skin, a symptom of soulmatism caused by one's soulmate being injured. while not much is known, the size, growth speed, and fullness of the flora may change depending on the type and severity of the injury.

ever the adventurer, it is rare to find naofumi without cuts, scrapes, and general bruises littering their body; they pity whoever their soulmate may be. they definitely get injured a lot more than their soulmate, but a small (some may say sick) part of their brain wishes their soulmate would be injured more. it deeply treasure every little flower than blooms from their skin, down to each individual petal and leaf, and is always sad to see them go as their soulmate heals. many trim these flowers as they appear, but not naofumi. they prefer to carefully guard and keep the blooms until they wither away — partially tk admire their beauty, and partially to keep track of their soulmate's health and healing processes.
